These conditions cause fluid to build up under the retina. The fluid comes from the Choroid layer, which is the blood vessel layer right under your retina. | ||

Your symptoms may include seeing a gray or greenish spot in your central vision, decreased, blurred or distorted vision. | ||

Macular Serous Detachment conditions are diagnosed by a complete ophthalmic history and eye examination along with special photography called a Fluorescein Angiogram and 3D optical coherence tomography. These photos will highlight problem areas and give us a cross section view of the retina to evaluation whether there are areas of leakage. | ||

In most cases you are urged to modify your lifestyle, such as cutting back on things that may cause stress. If this condition does not resolve in a few months with severe leakage or severe vision loss then you may benefit from laser treatment or an injection of medication in the eye. | ||

Regular eye examinations to detect early changes. A healthy low stress lifestyle is also recommended in the prevention of Macular Serous Detachment. | ||
